My interview experience with Sorenson Communications was mixed. I initially completed three rounds — a phone screen with the recruiter, followed by interviews with both a BU Director and BU Manager. Each conversation went well, and the team members were personable and professional.
However, the communication throughout the process was inconsistent. After my second interview, I waited nine days without hearing anything, so I reached out for an update. The recruiter informed me by email that the company had chosen another candidate. Five days after that, I unexpectedly received a call from the same recruiter saying a member of upper management wanted to meet with me the next day. I completed that interview as well (this interviewer unexpectedly amended the role's responsibilities shared by previous interviewers) and was told the recruiter would follow up within 24 hours — but I never received any additional communication.
Overall, the experience left me uncertain about the internal coordination and candidate communication practices. While the individual interviewers were mostly polite and the conversations themselves were positive, the lack of clarity and follow-through made the process frustrating. Improving timely communication and ensuring candidates receive a conclusive update would go a long way toward creating a better experience.
