I had a terrible interview experience and would not recommend applying for an Internship at Sophia Genetics. 1. Phone Screen: The recruiter was 15 minutes late and did not answer my questions about the position. 2. In-person interview: - The interview was scheduled as a 30-minute online interview three days before. I would usually expect to get at least one week of preparation time for such technical interviews, however, I agreed as I thought it would just be short and online. The evening before the interview, they told me that they expected me to come in person and I should prepare a 30-minute presentation. (At this point I should have refused to do this, but for whatever reason, I proceeded) - The interview took almost 3 hours instead of the scheduled 1 hour with 1-1 discussions with various team members (they were nice at least) - At the end of the interview, they told me the salary (2500 CHF per month, which is hardly enough to cover basic expenses in this region) and that they would likely not have a permanent position for me after the internship - They told me they would get back to me within 1 week and I never heard from them again (not surprised at this point, as they had mismanaged the process at every other stage already) A tough job market is no excuse to take advantage of young graduates!
