Received an email asking me to send my resume and returned with an email saying that they only “… hire candidates who are non-Filipinos or not in the PH at the time of their application.” The recruiter did not ask any questions to me about my status and does not know the employment law. I happen to be dual citizen, I have a SSS number and PhilHealth number, pay taxes, therefor I am entitled to employment. Moreover just noticed that it’s an American based company which says that this company has a policy against hiring Americans who are dual citizens. Sounds like an EOE case to me to mention to the DOL and DOLE. I am not surprised to say the least, recruiters who contacted me regarding positions at their companies should know how to properly screen candidates, imagine all the talent that gets passed by buy this incompetence. If an oversight that simple is possible with candidates, imagine what the business day is like . No loss here judging by the reviews.
