Softerware keeps the interview process very simple:
1) Apply online to the role
2) Attend a phone screening with a member of HR
3) Complete a take-home project to present to a panel of interviewers at Softerware
Every member of the Softerware team that I interacted with during the interview process were pleasant to work with, friendly to talk to, and asked insightful questions along the way. Being asked to complete a take home project in lieu of multiple rounds of screening interviews was refreshing, and I think it was a fair way to assess my skills and interest while also giving the team at Softerware an idea of what I am like in a workplace environment.
Softerware offers competitive salary and benefits, as well as a work environment where it is clear that the people who work here are really passionate about equipping nonprofits with the tools they need to effectively carry out their mission. While I am disappointed that I wasn't chosen for this specific role, I would definitely consider applying to work with Softerware in the future because of how positive my experience was, and because of the kind of passion and kindness the employees I interacted with bring to this company.
I do think the interview process took a long time before I received a result, I would have appreciated a quicker "no" so I would have been able to focus my job search efforts elsewhere. I understand that the hiring process is very involved and time consuming, so I at least appreciate that I received a clear answer at the end.
