I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Snowed In Studios (Ottawa, ON) in Jun 2026
Interview
Very smooth interview process, straight forward technical interview. Recruiter reached out first. Very nice and simple process overall, would love to work for them if I am given the chance too!

Question 1
C++ and C# questions based on theory and actual coding
I applied through other source. I interviewed at Snowed In Studios (Ottawa, ON) in Apr 2022
Interview
They originally approached me after I graduated from a game development program in town, saying someone from the program recommended me to them.
Their talent acquisition agent missed our first interview. We rescheduled the meeting, had a preliminary chat, followed by a 3 hour technical assessment a few days later, conducted on a website with a gamified approach to programming testing.
I passed the test, they congratulated me and we had a follow up chat a few weeks later where they let me know they're only looking for senior programmers until early 2023, and they'll keep me posted. I've followed up with them a few times since, but got no response.
I've reapplied a while ago, hoping to hear back from them, but the process has been extremely long and communication has been sparse.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Technical questions included sorting, pattern detection and data structures.
I applied online. I interviewed at Snowed In Studios (Ottawa, ON) in Aug 2021
Interview
The interview process was smooth overall. A get-to-know interview followed by a technical round against 2 senior engineers based on C# and C++. The interview started with drilling my resume, and questions about my current project along with a few behavioural questions. Following this, a deep discussion on Stack vs Heap, value type vs reference type, and getting to know your thinking process and how you respond to hypothetical questions and situations, The interviewers were friendly, and were impressed with my answers (atleast I felt so). I felt like the interview couldn't go any better, but, it turned out to be a rejection without specifying the exact issues, so that I could work on them.

Question 1
- Memory based question.
- Stack vs Heap memory.
- Basic C++ syntax.
Thank you for your feedback - it is always appreciated.
We certainly endeavor to do our best when providing feedback to candidates at all stages of the process, especially those that interview with us. I apologize that this was not the case in this instance; if you would like to reach out to me directly at careers@snowedin.ca, I would be happy to follow up and provide with any additional feedback as to why the team made the decision not to proceed in this instance.
Thank you again and we wish you all the best.
