I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Slalom in Nov 2021
Interview
I applied for a role that fit my experience level and was quickly contacted by a recruiter. They were very eager to move the interview process along quickly, usually scheduling interviews with only one or two days notice. After four interviews in two weeks I was told I would receive a decision.
A few days after my final interview, I was told that the team was impressed with me and that I should expect an offer, pending some admin work and a background check. I did not receive any more information for almost two weeks, despite asking them for updates.
Over a month after my first interview I was told that the position would require someone with more experience and I would not be getting an offer. I was honest with them about my level of experience during the whole process and was explicitly told that team was looking for someone with my level of experience.
I don't think they deliberately led me on, but to go through a lengthy interview process with such a poor understanding of the job requirements suggests exceptionally disorganized and incompetent management and is disrespectful to job seekers.
They should have politely informed me that they wanted someone with more experience shortly after I applied; instead they wasted my time. I suggest you don't let them waste yours.
Thank you for the feedback. We will use it as a training tool with our teams. It sounds like we didn't set appropriate expectations or give you good feedback. Sometimes our business does change based on our client needs, but as a candidate, we should have been more clear about the timing and opportunity. We are sorry we missed the mark and that your experience was not more positive.
