Received a contact on LinkedIn from a recruiter asking if I was interested in a writing position. Said he really enjoyed reading my LinkedIn profile. I was told this was strictly CONFINDENTIAL (yes, in all caps) and wanted to know what my schedule was like so we could talk on the phone. I responded in the affirmative and gave him some times for us to hop on the phone.
A week went by and I received a second message that reads:
"Thank you for responding as quickly as you did. After reviewing your profile with the team, we have decided to go in a different direction. Thank you very much for expressing interest in Skanska."
You've got to be kidding me! I had little interest to begin with, but I was happy to hear what he had to say, but the fact he reaches out to me and doesn't even have the decency to give a courtesy call is garbage. Oh and the team wants to go in a different direction? Don't you think you might want to bring this up BEFORE you contact me?
Great impression of the company. What a joke.
