I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Silicon Valley Bank in Jan 2012
Interview
Initial introduction through a recruiter. SVB had me fill out a questionnaire with 10 questions or so, mostly why you think you would be a good candidate for the position. Next step was a phone screen with HR, fairly standard, really nice. Asked typical questions, "Why SVB", "Why this city", "Tell me about your background", "Please explain what you did at Company X." Since I was out of state, they wanted to schedule another phone screen with a MD. They took a while, but I eventually got an in-person meeting with them instead. In person interview with a Sr. Director and an MD was ok. Mostly asked about my current/past experience and what I know about SVB. Be prepared to answer some technical questions on the whiteboard. Know everything about 409A valuations since that is 90% of what they do. They don't pay for travel expenses or (if offered the position) do not provide a relocation package.

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Silicon Valley Bank (Miami, FL) in Mar 2022
Interview
Three rounds of interviews . HR, Managing director and former employee. Thought they went well but didn't translate to an offer. Sadly because I had questioned the BS risk that ended up causing the flight of capital back in 2023

Telephone call with prospective manager on a Monday afternoon.Very genuine interest in my career focus and objectives. Listened closely to my answers and showed real interest in me as a person / potential leader.

I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Silicon Valley Bank (Palo Alto, CA)
Interview
It was clear that the interview process is not consistent at this company. Some were more formal, were very casual. No themes carried over from one to the other. Was very slow and took about 3 months start to finish.
