Back in October 2020, I was contacted thru LinkedIn to interview for an open position, I went and interviewed in person and it seemed like a good company to work for. Unfortunately, I didn't get the job and so a few months later the same person reached out to me again and offered me a slightly different role with the same job requirements and so after thinking about it I let him know that I would gladly accept an offer to join them.
Turns out it was a cruel joke to play on someone during a pandemic! I figured since I had already interviewed in person that our informal job offer conversation on LinkedIn was legit. I never got a follow-up and when I checked in I kept getting excuses as to why it was taking so long. I would have appreciated some kind of acknowledgment or response as to why they changed their mind about hiring me. Be a professional adult and say we went with someone else if that "job" was even real. Glad to say that I'm no longer interested or will ever be interested in SilencerCo because of that humiliating experience.
