      Consultant Interview

      13 Aug 2021
      Anonymous employee
      New York, NY
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Sia (New York, NY) in Apr 2021

      Interview

Interview processed took ~1-2 months - offer received and accepted - interviews focus on your experience and ability to perform the job, just as much as exploring your personal and professional interests to fully comprehend you as a professional and as a person. - 1 behavioral, 3 technical interviews, and 1 final round covering many topics with a Partner. The Talent Acquisition team scheduled a preliminary informational/behavioral interview. Since day 1 of the interview process, I felt great speaking to the Talent Acquisition lead – Hessed Honstein, who thoroughly shared an overview of the role and interview process. She inquired about my personal and professional experience & personal interests, and somehow got to understand me not only as a candidate but as a person who was able to add value in many ways, and not only to fulfill a specific role’s responsibilities. The whole process took about 2 months, but what I liked about the interviewers and Talent Acquisition team is the transparency, effective communication, and integrity. While the interview process wasn’t in-person, the teams have an outstanding process in place to hire talent, and lead onboarding and training. The processes felt seamless, excellently organized, and the delivery of information was effective enough to not confuse most of the new hires of my “class”. In terms of the interviews, I felt that interviewers found ways to really get to know the candidate both as a professional and as a person who had many more abilities and interests to add value. Placing candidates in the appropriate teams is their mission to help them advance their career and add value to their fields of expertise. Qualifications are crucial to pass the interview process, but once they are confirmed, interviews flow effectively and questions revolve around the story that you share in relation to experience. This process was not the typical and standardized recruitment, and I believe it is a result of the firm’s innovative and open minded culture and values.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Conversational vs. specific questions about technicalities. Depending on the position, a test case interview may occur. "Please share experiences where you faced an issue with a colleague and found an effective resolution to it."; "If your client requires work that does not align with reasonable expectations, how do you respond to the client? do you move forward executing? push back? or decline? Provide an explanation." "Describe moments when....... and were able to be a resource/add value/solve a problem that seemed unsolvable..." etc...
