I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at SiRF Technology in Jun 2008
Interview
I had applied from another city. After 2 rounds of telephonic interviews, they sent me a mail with some problems to solve (programming assignments), which I replied to in a week. Then they invited me for face-to-face interview, of course providing me with the t0-&-fro flight tickets, a chauffeur to pick me up from the airport. The F2F interviews spanned a whole day, first a group session, then another single person took it, & finally the program manager. The last interview was taken by the company director. The technical questions were very intelligent & to the point. The people seemed highly skilled & no-nonsense types. SiRF, Bangalore really had some highly talented engineers, both in hardware & software teams. They gave me the offer by the end of the day. It was quick, clean & straight-forward. I liked their style & as you can guess, I decided to join :)

Question 1
One interviewer (I later was mt mentor in the software team) saw in my resume that I had won some Maths contest in my school. So he asked me to "derive" how I'd represent a negative decimal number as a binary notation. I was kind of unprepared for this. But he did make me feel easy & even helped me out in the whole process. At the end, we almost derived it together. It was very impressive of him as an interviewer.
