About a week after applying for the position I had a 30-minute phone interview with one of the company's editors. It was an easy, fun and very relaxed interview. About a week later I was given a test assignment with a two-day turnaround. From there, I was originally told in the phone interview that after the test assignment they would schedule another phone interview with the main editor before going through my references and then sending an offer; however, I never heard anything after I submitted the assignment (not even a confirmation that they had received it) and I reached out a week later for an update but never received a response.
