I applied online. I interviewed at Shopify (Hamilton, ON)
Interview
The first interview was largely discussed work experience, the role, etc. It felt very standard.
The second interview was a technical test where you were expected to have some basic understanding of the platform and navigating its online help resources, and be able to talk a hypothetical customer through an issue they were having.
While doing the technical interview, I gave an additional piece of advice based on part of the "small talk" I'd had with the "customer", which I suspect gave me an edge, as that turned out to be an expected and monitored aspect of the role. If given the opportunity, you want to not just solve the issue you're given, but also recommend a fix for a problem they "might not realize they're having". For example, the "customer" wanted help setting up email alerts for a new employee, and mentioned that he was too busy to answer them all himself, so I also mentioned how he could disable alerts to his own email if the employee was taking over customer support entirely.

Question 1
What's a challenge that you've had to overcome in the workplace?
I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Shopify (Dublin, Dublin) in Apr 2021
Interview
To apply I filled a form in online. 2 days later I got an email to schedule a video call interview. The recruiter was extremely nice and he has a very specific way to get to know who you are. It's a conversation where you can be yourself, it was very enjoyable.
Half an hour later I got an email to schedule my Technical Interview.
In The Technical Interview they gave 2 simultaneous chats and after that I received an email and had to 15 minutes to reply. I think this is the hardest part and to be honest I do not agree with this assessment type. I've been working on up to 3 simultaneous chats for the last years and, with the proper training I got, I feel very confident and I've never had a complian from the customers. But they said I had to get more involved with the customer when I was trying to look for the answer to their questions online. I think as a client, my priority would be to get my issue resolved.

Question 1
Tell me about yourself and focus on 1 of your previous role
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Shopify
Interview
2 step interview. First is a "tell your life story" interview. Next is a practical test of your knowledge of the Shopify platform (you get a test account to play with beforehand) while pretending to be an actual customer support person with the "interviewer" pretending to be the customer. It was very challenging because you have to juggle up to 3 simultaneous chats (and solve up to 3 different issues) at the same time.
