Thank you for sharing your feedback. I am sorry to hear that the interview process at Shopify wasn’t as expected. The interview process is designed to get applicants familiar with the type of work they might be handling as a Support Advisor. Because of this, the process can be lengthy, as we are looking to find the best fit for the role.
The Life Story allows us to get to know you as a person - it is created to be more of a conversation than an interview. Whereas the technical portion is more of a role-play to get you acquainted with the workflow of the position. The technical portion helps us to measure skill level, see how deadlines would be handled under pressure and understand your thought process. No two-days are the same as a Support Advisor, so we try to get you as accustomed with the role as possible.
I am sorry to hear that you weren’t offered a position. If you’re still interested, I do hope you apply again in the future.
