Interview
The process started with a first-round video interview with the CEO and an “HR” person who seemed more like a contractor collecting insights than a real recruiter. The second round was in person with the CEO and another team member.
After that, they asked me to prepare a detailed presentation that was not a simple one-pager, but a long, in-depth proposal on opportunities and assortment strategy. I delivered the full presentation and answered many questions during the interview.
I didn’t get the job. I asked HR for feedback, but never received any. When I followed up again later, she simply told me they NEVER hired anyone for the role.

They asked a mix of easy, conversational questions about my background and approach. Since I love product and merchandising, answering came naturally. The main task was preparing and presenting a detailed presentation on opportunities and assortment strategy, and more and more!
No, HR at this company. Initially, had phone screen with hiring manager then in person interview with owner, manager, and who I would be replacing. Wasn't to difficult - average questions. Followed up to check on my application status, but they ghosted me and did not provide any update.

Interview
Went through 4 rounds of interviews over a 2-month period (which used up over 4 hours of my PTO), did free labor for them upon request (which took up hours of my personal time), all to be left hanging for 2 weeks after my final interview. Finally followed up for a second time and was told my rejection email never made it to me for “some reason.” I am certain they just forgot to send it. I had reached out to the CEO after they supposedly would’ve sent my rejection letter, meaning he just ignored my message and didn’t bother following up with his staff to ensure my rejection letter had gotten to me. A truly horrible, demeaning experience.
