Pre interview with HR, then you talk to the management of the store you’re applying to, and possibly talk to the district manager (if you’re applying for a management position)
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
How do you balance helping multiple customers at once?
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Shane Co. in Jun 2025
Interview
At first, I was really impressed with the general experience of the interview. I was screened by a recruiter, a Shane Co talent manager, and the Store Manager. I was excited about the questions I was asked from my background. What really bothered me was how I was pigeon holed into applying to management when I was to do just do the Sales. Originally everyone was very moving forward to applying/interviewing. I get around to availability of positions after speaking with the talent manager and all of the sudden "the role was filled". I felt I was led on and my application was pushed aside because it would benefit them more if I filled a leadership role. It really left a sour taste in my mouth and my time was truly wasted. I was forced to apply to a management role when I was very clear about not being interested. They used the leverage of the job market. The interview with the store manager was pleasant, but she kept reiterating the importance of timeliness to your schedule shifts. I arrived on time for my interview, I waited about 10 minutes for us to interview. She was concerned for my commute after seeing I have been a manager myself for over 10 years. All in all this was my first impression of this company and it's business. As a customer, I 100% know I would not get any jewelry of significance from here.
I applied online. I interviewed at Shane Co. (San Mateo, CA) in Mar 2025
Interview
Online application then invited in after a personality assessment. I went into details about my relevant people and sales experience as well as life experience with a gal who seemed nice and looked like a model. However I got a No without explanation. I felt that this is a micro-managed, (from what I saw when in their waiting room) ageist organization that probably does not valuek, nor trust its' employees.
