The process involved an online pre-screening questionnaire followed by an online screening interview presented as an initial discussion for a broader pool of Change/Project Management candidates rather than a specific client role. However, the rejection email later referenced not meeting unspecified “client requirements,” which felt misleading and inconsistent with what was communicated during the interview process.
Overall, this was one of the poorest candidate experiences I have encountered in more than 20 years of professional experience. The interviewer appeared unprepared, unfamiliar with my CV and background, and lacked the professionalism, structure, and interviewing capability expected when assessing senior candidates. Despite extensive experience across project management, change management, operational leadership, and enterprise transformation, there was little meaningful discussion about my actual skills, achievements, or suitability for the role.
Instead, much of the conversation focused on how lengthy and difficult the recruitment process would be, including multiple interview rounds and assessments, which came across as discouraging rather than informative. The interaction felt superficial, condescending, and unwelcoming throughout.
The overall experience left a very negative impression of the organisation and its recruitment practices. I would not recommend even bothering applying at Seven Consulting.
