      Data Scientist Interview

      12 Jul 2020
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Toronto, ON
      No offer
      Negative experience

      Application

I applied through a staffing agency. I interviewed at Sentiance (Toronto, ON) in Jul 2020

      Interview

I was contacted by an international recruiter from Talent seed and had the initial technical screening call with her. I was then sent a take home technical test that was supposed to be done in 4/5 days! In the test, they had asked to write '' production-ready code using OOP" with unit test, comments and "documentation strings for all methods" with instructions to run the code ("Provide us with the instructions needed to run your code (e.g. requirements.txt, setup.py). Ideally, a simple virtualenv build and a pip install will do the trick")! It seemed to me extremely unusual to ask for "production-ready code" for data scientist! interview test and seemed to me that they were looking for someone to do their projects for free! I declined to do the test.
