      Technical Business Analyst Interview

      20 Oct 2013
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Austin, TX
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Sense Corp (Austin, TX) in Oct 2013

      Interview

I turned in my resume during an career fair at my university, and got an email back around 3 weeks later. The recruiters will reach out and hold info session, plus social lunch every week. They boast on their cultural which is very relaxed and family-like. They started with almost 130 people for interview and narrow it down to 12-13, so don't feel special when you got an interview request. They tried to interview as many people as possible. For a small company, the competition is surprisingly big. First round is behavioral, second round behavioral+case, third round is not technically an interview it's just a social dinner with senior management. Very standard questions. They mostly just want to see if they would like working with you or not, none of the questions I got had to do with any skills or qualifications, so try to be as likable as you can be because that's one of the main things they're looking for.

      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through university. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Sense Corp (Austin, TX)

      Interview

This is a very culture-centric company, so a huge majority of what they measure is cultural fit. They use their "compass" to vet future consultants, which has the four categories of Creative, Brilliant, Human, Fun. Because this is a smaller company, you will interview with HR, experienced consultants, and program managers. All of the people are very personable, so let your personality shine!

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

During my case study, I was asked to make a recommendation way before I had sufficient information. I realized, though, that the reason they asked for a recommendation so early was to test if I was cocky and if I acted on whims. It was a fast-paced interview, so I am glad I responded honestly and asked more questions to clarify the case before making a recommendation.
