      Project manager (core division) Interview

      5 Mar 2024
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Limassol, Limassol
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Semrush (Limassol, Limassol) in Feb 2024

      Interview

What I dislike about the latest interview I've had: 1. The recruiter encountered issues with the Internet connection. While acknowledging that unforeseen challenges may arise, particularly during working hours, it is imperative to promptly address such constraints, ensuring a seamless experience for applicants seeking clarification on essential information related to the role. 2. The divisional structure and specificity of the role descriptions were presented in a crumpled, fast-paced manner, making it challenging to comprehend. It would significantly enhance the clarity of communication if the recruiter were to prepare visual materials to accompany the verbal explanation of the overall structure. 3. When applying for a job with a "remote" format, I anticipate the flexibility to work from any location without the need to relocate. However, the actual conditions imposed were notably stringent concerning my specific location. I had to select a country, with the company offering assistance for relocation, and then decide whether I preferred remote work or an office setting. This arrangement appears incongruent with the typical understanding of "remote" working. 4. In instances where pivotal mismatches surface during the interview, it is crucial for the recruiter to highlight them and express concerns immediately. This allows the candidate to provide explanations for any discrepancies, ensuring a transparent and constructive dialogue. 5. The interview lacked a discussion on the salary range, particularly concerning the relevance to living conditions in the chosen country when considering the potential employee's specific location. It is essential to address such financial aspects to align expectations effectively. 6. I felt pressured when the recruiter mentioned that most project managers had chosen Cyprus as their office location, emphasizing the company's commitment to this tradition. This approach seemed restrictive, as it dismissed consideration of other office locations within the company, undermining the potential flexibility in work arrangements. In addition: While I may not be the ideal candidate for this position at the moment, my overall experience with the hiring process, initially positive, was unfortunately dampened by the recruiter's performance during the interview.
