I was invited to interview for a Senior Financial Analyst role. Within the first few minutes, the interviewer told me I was not qualified and suggested we continue for a different, lower-ranked position instead. That was the first I had heard of any change to the role. When I asked about the salary range for this position they had decided to pitch me on the spot, they refused to share it.
What makes this so frustrating: my entire background is laid out on my CV. If I was not a fit for the Senior Financial Analyst role, a two-minute look at my resume would have told them that before they ever scheduled the interview. Instead, they brought me in, dismissed me in ten minutes, and tried to redirect me into a job I never applied for, all without being willing to discuss compensation.
Communication throughout was also difficult, which made an already awkward conversation harder to follow.
If you are considering this company, pay attention to how they treat candidates' time. A quick resume screen would have saved everyone the trouble, and it says a lot that no one bothered.
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Segway LLC (Plano, TX)
Interview
DO NOT apply to this company.
My experience with Segway’s HR team was extremely unprofessional. Their recruiter initially reached out to me and said I was a good fit for the role. HR then called me and scheduled an interview.
On the day of the interview, HR contacted me to cancel and said they would reschedule it later. After that, I was completely ghosted and instead received an automated rejection email saying I was “not a fit for the role.”
I tried to follow up politely to understand the reason, but I never received any response. This lack of communication and respect for candidates’ time is unacceptable and very rude.
In total I completed three interviews over a three week period after hearing from the recruiter about a month after submitting my application. My interviews with the hiring manager and team members were genuinely positive. Everyone was warm and gave me a clear understanding of the role.
However, the interview process itself was a bit disappointing. The recruiter canceled interviews at multiple times, including some at the last minute, which was a bit disorganized. Despite multiple follow-ups after my last interview, I never received an update on my candidacy. Being ghosted after several interviews felt unprofessional and a simple courtesy reply would have been appreciated.
