I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Scotiabank (Scarborough, ON) in Dec 2015
Interview
I was contacted by their recruiter to come in for an interview. There was some confusion and the interviewers were given a different time than what I was given.
The panel interview had three parts:
- questions about my resume; why I was interested in Scotiabank; projects I've worked on
- technical questions about Objective-C (category and threads)
- algorithm question

I applied in-person. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Scotiabank (Toronto, ON) in Oct 2015
Interview
I was found by a Scotiabank internal recruiter from LinkedIn and was granted a phone interview right on the same day. I passed the phone screen and was scheduled a face to face interview exactly 1 week after.
I managed to do well on the face to face interview and was scheduled to have a second interview almost 2 weeks after the first interview.
This was unfortunate too long for me to wait and I was off the job market a day before the second interview.
I informed Scotiabank of my decision and was replied with a very persuasive email offering to negotiate a job offer verbally over the phone immediately. I politely declined the offer and thanked them for their effort.
I really wanted to join their company at first but the 3 weeks process was too long compare to other companies.
I suggest the hiring team to move quicker with the interviewing process to ensure capturing the best talent.
