Applied for a position and after receiving no response (other than the system generated acknowledgment of the application receipt), learned from current (non-supervisor) co-workers that they heard from people at the college that I applied for a position.
I did not give permission for them to contact my current employer. College should use discretion and professionalism with applicants and the hiring process.
