The hiring process consisted of an HR screening, a discussion with the Head of AI, a seven-day take-home assessment, and a final interview. The experience felt disorganized, with long periods of no communication (2 months) and repeated discussions about salary expectations. During the initial HR call, I was asked intrusive questions about my current compensation, which I found inappropriate. We also discussed my salary expectations, which seemed to be accepted at the time.
After completing the extensive take-home assignment, HR revisited the salary topic and suggested that my expectations were higher than anticipated, despite having been discussed earlier. Being told this only after I had invested significant time in the process felt like a late-stage attempt to lower my compensation expectations. As a result, I chose to withdraw from the process rather than proceed with the final interview.
I applied online. I interviewed at Satalia (Athens, Athens, Attica)
Interview
The interview process is simple: You get a screening call from HR if you are suited for the position. Then an interview with the Head of Data Science, where you select a take-home open task to solve in a week. Then, a technical interview with 2 lead people (Head of AI & AI Architect). There's not many steps in the process.
To me the head of DS seemed like trying too hard to sell the company and impress the candidate, being sarcastic at times. After submitting the one week take-home task (mind you, this takes many, many hours of your spare time - they need a complete packaged deliverable and a presentation for stakeholders), they ghosted me. I had to call the HR to get an update and proceeded with the next round interview in the next days. The technical interview was nothing too hard or easy, however I found many of the questions way too technical and deep to get answered for someone looking at a Junior position (I had 3 years of experience). They were pushy at times and did not give me the impression that they want to know the candidate or looking to hire.
One month later and still have not heard back from HR. Eventually, I accepted an offer elsewhere.
To my understanding, they are not actively looking to hire, as the same jobs get reposted. They may be hiring already internally or trying to justify growth to investors by having employment openings, that in reality are ghost jobs.
First you have a call. If things go right you continue with a assignment based on your position you apply. You have a week to deliver it. Then you get offer if did well. There aren't a lot of stages in the interview process
