I applied through university. I interviewed at Santander (New York, NY) in Dec 2025
Interview
The first interview was virtual with two team members (1 MD and 1 VP) and lasted 30 minutes. There were 10 technical questions on accounting, valuation, and M&A. By this time I had already had screening phone calls with the team.

I applied online. The process took 4 months. I interviewed at Santander (New York, NY) in Jan 2022
Interview
Applied in the early fall and didn't hear anything until January. The process was not fun. They assigned you a case study about 2 days before the interview and wanted you to create a PowerPoint presentation explaining your opinion on one of the 3 topics. Took almost 5 hrs to first understand the topic and then create the PowerPoint. There was an initial virtual event involving a member of the global team that explained their position and experiences. The entirety of the potential hires is on this call. The following day was the actual interview: two 30 minute interviews. The first interview was more behavioral and a standard interview. The second was the case study presentation in which you explain a topic to experts. Overall, way too much time was required for this process and is unnecessary. Hundreds of applicants, then widdled down to about 40 for interviews, and only 10 offers sent out. Waste of time.
