I participated in a long selection process for a lawyer position, which took about 3 months, and I was eliminated before the end.
In an initial conversation, they presented the process, which would have 5 to 6 stages.
The next stage would be an assignment that I would have 10 days to complete.
They sent me the assignment, which consisted of 3 tasks:
1. Draft a contract
2. Prepare an executive summary of a legal report of over 100 pages, propose mitigation strategies, and growth strategies
3. Propose an innovative project
They gave me a deadline of 7 days for submission. During those 7 days, I worked day and night to complete the assignment, which was not only extensive but also very complex.
When I submitted it, I asked them to confirm receipt, but they didn't even do that.
The assignment stated that they would evaluate certain criteria.
After about 45 days, I received a generic email saying they would not proceed with my application, without any feedback on the assignment that was supposedly evaluated.
When I applied, there were hundreds of job openings on LinkedIn. After the negative response, mysteriously, all the job postings became exclusive.
When I read here about people accusing the company of conducting selection tests to gain free work, I didn't believe it.
But after my experience, I am sure that this is indeed the purpose.
Stay alert and don't waste your time with this dishonest company.
