I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Samsung Research America (San Francisco, CA)
Interview
It was a pretty standard phone screen. Recruiter reached out and scheduled a time to work with the hiring manager. Interview was around 45 minutes with mostly standard biomedical engineering stats and signal processing questions.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Questions were what you'd expect for such a biomedical engineering based on wearable PPG data, mostly about statistics (type 1 vs type 2 errors, etc.) and statistical signal processing.
My questions about advancement and ability to do research on any ideas I might have had were pretty negatively received. It seemed as if you weren't part of the home office there wasn't much room at all for advancement.
