Before I start the review I think I should add some key points on my background and what I have done through my experience. I don't claim to be an expert by any means with over 21 years of food and beverage experience and with a consistent record of success. Also if I were to be ask what past employees and co workers thought about me , Im confident that it wouldn't be anything negative, however, at this point in my career I feel as its my personal duty to inform future applicants/candidates about experiences I have delt with in different capacities, I feel as if this knowledge is gold for anyone, Sallys APIZZA is a company's in there infancy with multiple locations slated to open. I hope this gives a good sense of what is going on already, Again this is to give future applicant knowledge so they may make an informed decision, of employment at a company, so they can "sniff out" any non-sense of the establishment. Also I did take the Interview while I was still employed. however, I'll get into the application submission later lmao!!!!. I by no means want to discourage anyone from pursuing this company but hopefully this gives some people a firm perspective. Ounce a person gets past a big name and fancy titles. Im sure there are tons of applicants that would be a good fit with Sallys Apizza. Remember were just serving food and drinks here I don't see a Michelin star coming anytime soon to Sallys APIZZA .
1st Red flag 😄
The posting for the position was done around middle of January 2024. I did submit it around that time. I received a a email from a recruiter about 3 months later. From my experience most applicants will already be seeking an opportunity within a month or so depending on that person circumstance. I was a little confused why the recruiter is setting up interviews now, could be multible variables, either they weren't ready to hire or was just lazy and could not get the post down. I seem to believe the latter, just seems odd. The initial email was sketchy, you would think that the recruiter would know how to send a correct email or call a person to set that up however, I notice that the person name starts with "J" couldn't grammatically end an email effectively. Just said "sincerely" at the end. Although a small detail every email or message I have ever sent I always let the recipient know who I am, also to potentially bypass any spam.
2nd Red flag 🤦♂️
I set up the meeting for later in the evening. There was another person cc on the email to be attached on the meeting. I promptly signed on to the virtual meeting.I waited about 5 minutes with out a call or text, almost just left the meeting, Then when they finally logged in, to see it was a woman and a gentleman with his first name "B". Now.. by this moment is when I knew that I should have just disconnected ... for me that set the tone for my experience, to not value my time and offer a real apology was concerning for the firm. 😄 the virtual Interviewers was late...!!! Im empathetic to anyone because things happen, but just by looking at both body languages of the two individuals they seem to not care and wasn't really enthusiastic in offering an "apology: The young lady did say sorry however, Mr 'B" didn't speak at all seem more fixated on something else other than the meeting. At this point I was just taking notes on how incompetent they were. LMAO
