      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at SS&C Advent (San Francisco, CA) in Feb 2011

      Interview

First apply for the job online on their website. If they are interested, someone will call you and tell you the basics of the hiring process and the job in general. After this initial call back they will call for a phone interview. I believe it was about 45 minutes but it has been a while. If you pass the phone interview there will be at least 2 in person interviews. The first interview is a fairly all day event, I remember arriving in the morning and being there for at least 3-4 hours, if not more. After arriving and greeting, was asked to respond (simulation) to an important upset client by email based on a set of conditions provided, which was about 5-7 facts about the situation. Afterwards there was about 2 hour long group interviews with 2-3 persons each time. They were pleasant and professional.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

I honestly cannot remember too much in the field of specific questions, but they did ask riddles that require logical thinking, such as how to measure exactly 4 gallons of water using only a 2 gallon bucket and 3 gallon bucket (the exact details escape me, but there were at least 2 or 3 questions of this type)

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at SS&C Advent (San Francisco, CA) in Jun 2023

      Interview

Did a screening interview, then another video interview, then another logic/troubleshooting interview with 2 more employees, then made it to a final interview where you were given a sheet of topics to memorize and I memorized everything on it and answered every question they asked correctly. I didn't hear back from them for weeks yet every time I emailed asking for an update they said I was still under consideration. After around 3 weeks I got a phone call asking if I was still interested in the position and I said yes. That was the last I ever heard from them. the entire process took 3 months. A waste of time.

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at SS&C Advent in Sept 2014

      Interview

The entire process took one month. After filling out the Jobvite, I was contacted via email to setup a prescreen phone interview. After passing this, I had a phone interview with a hiring manager who passed me onto the final in person interview. I was given a study guide on finance and technical terms and scheduled an in person interview the following week. I arrived at my interview and was told that it was three parts: 1) meet with a client support rep for an hour and listen to any calls he may have, 2) met a manager, another client support rep, and someone calling in from the Boston Office - here I was interviewed for an hour and asked three brain teasers along with describing my work history, 3 ) met with two more reps and the director - Here I as again asked to describe my work history and asked some behavioral questions.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Brain teasers: 1) there are 9 spherical balls and one weighs more than the rest. You have a balance scale and two tries. How do you find out which ball weighs the most? 2) It is dark and you are to choose 1 sock at random. There are 20 black and 20 blue socks. What is the least amount of socks you can pick at random to be guaranteed a matching pair? 3)Your internet is not working. What do you do?
