      Field Engineer Interview

      15 May 2013
      Anonymous employee
      Oklahoma City, OK
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through university. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at SLB (Oklahoma City, OK)

      Interview

The first interview was a simple phone behavioral interview. The were no technical questions. The interview is very short so be sure to ask a lot of question and seem interested. I got an offer to attend a second round in OKC a couple weeks later. The first day of the interview lasts long into the night. The present on a variety of subjects on the company followed by presentations by us that they assigned about a week before. You will be presenting with a partner that you have never met so be sure to communicate before you fly out to the Interview site. They also have us take part in a fun team building exercise. They had us build a series of towers with pencils, paper, paperclips, and other random office material. We then had to launch a plastic frog from tower to tower. The next day you wake up early in the morning and visit some well sites. Chug some coffe in the morning. It will be a long day and they are looking for people who are awake, active, and interest in what they are showing us. The only time we were actually "Interviewed" was a 10 min exit interview at the end of the day. You need to be prepared in saying which segment you are interested in joining and why. The interviewers then treat everyone to good food and and alcohol. The whole process felt more like I was "rushing" for the company rather than interviewing for it. Overall, it was a lot of fun. Also, if you tell them that you are prepared to work anywhere overseas, actually be prepared to work anywhere because they WILL send you anywhere.

It was an on campus hiring. First they shortlisted based on CV. Then second round was group discussion where we were given abstract topics like "Half filled glass of water" and were asked to discuss. This was also an eliminatory round. The final round was more of a HR round, they asked behavioural questions, few puzzles (very easy) and general knowledge questions
