First Interview with the founder - We had a chat about the product. He was amazing.
Second interview with the Product Manager - The Horror.
The interviewer was late, which I understand can happen. However, the overall experience was disappointing. It felt as though the interviewer had already made a decision before the conversation even began, making it challenging to have a productive discussion.
I had prepared a demo for my recent project and shared a link to it in advance, hoping to discuss it during the interview. Unfortunately, it seemed like neither of these materials were reviewed, and when I tried to reference them, it felt like my input was dismissed. This made it difficult to engage in a meaningful conversation about the role and the skills I could bring to the team.
I also shared a usability website, Laws of UX (Google it), and explained how these principles are universal, serving as guidelines I respect and follow. The interviewer kept suggesting that I "don't know people who work in a warehouse" and "Yeah, yeah I know there are many Javascript UI libraries".
Lol if they would have spent 10 seconds on that website then they'd know it has nothing to do with colour palettes or design. It is all about UX.
I've NEVER experienced an interview like this before in 11 years of experience.
(I'm not white so I should mention that)
