First conversation with a recruiter who did not introduce herself, I had no idea who was in front of me. Whilst she is not to blame (im sure she has to hire for many roles) it was clear from the first second she quite literally had no idea what this role was, how it fits in the organization and also had 0 idea about my experience. It was a very weird experience as you could tell it went into one ear and straight out the other. Recruiter also mentioned that the location of the job was flexible but then couldnt tell me what locations would be on offer…. All very very strange Then, I was invited back for a second interview. The interview was canceled 6 minutes before it was to start as apparently my salary requirement was too high. (Something they only realized minutes before the interview??) Which says a lot of about this company: Truly trying to get tech talent for bare bare bare minimum, exploiting the current tech lay-offs- as I had given a range which started very very low. I had also researched all platforms including Glassdoor to make sure my salary was 100% within reason and within what is listed on platforms like these… (Keeping in mind they are asking for 10+ years of specialized tech talent) All in all, I feel I dodged a bullet, a typical senior management gets paid lots and everyone else gets to feel the current inflation crisis :) - type company, horrible!
