      Senior Recruiter Interview

      19 Sept 2017
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Chicago, IL
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at SAGA Education (Chicago, IL) in Sept 2017

      Interview

It starts with an interview with the current employee that held that role, the next round is a group interview with the team you will be managing, (They were busier asking me to repeat myself more than three times to explain my process. As if she wanted to use my process). The next round is a Job Simulation Activity that consists of three sections. It was intensive and very tedious. The main issue with this is that they ask you to come up with a plan but they didn't give you much to work with. If you ask them to elaborate they tell you to assume different things. Before I turned in my 10 page report I had a circle of peers look at it and they couldn't believe I did all that work for an interview. It seemed like a trial basis activity without pay. They agreed that the direction was very aloof and impossible to finish in only 4 hours, which is the amount they said you shouldn't spend more hours on. After one week I received an email not mentioning the JSA just told me they decided to go with another candidate internally. I respectfully asked for some kind of feedback of my report and the manager replied they don't give candidates feedback. Totally unheard of and unprofessional. They asked for a lot of details. It is as if they will use your strategic ideas and either not fill the position or give to the internal candidate. Typical from a start-up company that doesn't have much of a website to begin with. I should of listened to the bad reviews before I wasted time going through this senseless interview process. The people that interview you are not on the same page. I kept getting different answers and responses for different questions. The whole thing was weird and alarming.

      Interview questions [3]

      Question 1

They give you a 360k budget and they want you to allocate the funds. With no foundation to start from. Just a 1 sentence scenario about expanding the recruiting circuit. It didn't make sense and I even asked people with degrees from Kellogg and they were confused with the line of questioning. They also wanted you to write a detailed written component about why. Even though you still won't have any questions answered that will help you with this. So it is all assumptions

      Question 2

They want you to come up with 10 action items you will come up with starting in the role. Along with why its important and what obstacles I expect along the way. Asking for very specific details.

      Question 3

Read a 10 page article and create your own Ecosystem based on the reading and your own experiences. Also add a detailed written component.
