Contacted by HR for the position. Explained clearly about the interview process and job role. Interview was scheduled for 45 mins but got completed within 15mins. Reasons : Interviewer asked basic questions when I answered more detailed way he stopped me. Clear indication that he had no or zero knowledge about the technology or the role which I am applying. My suggestion to the management is please arrange someone who is in same role or lead level who is having knowledge about the technology , just don't go with the Prestigious institution Tag.
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at SADA (New York, NY)
Interview
The process from initial contact with a recruiter to the technical interview was about a week. The technical interview was the worst experience I've ever had in an interview. There were questions ask that were very general and when I responded with clarifying questions they went unanswered. Interviewers took pleasure in making me feel inferior. I didn't receive an offer, but if I had I wouldn't have accepted. I wouldn't want to be part of a team with such an inflated sense of self importance.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at SADA in Jun 2019
Interview
Multi Round: HR/Recuiter, Director, Peer, Peer
Pretty informal/unprofessional interactions, each individual had a very different way of representing the role and would directly contradict each other. Recruiter had a very low salary expectation for the average salary for the role (for any region, but especially in LA area). Director represented the role well but was salesy. One of the peer interviewers was very inexperienced and didn't know how to ask questions relevant to the role and went severely over the allotted time. However they mentioned a lot of things that were more factual about the role that the Director had misrepresented/lied about in the conversation. Like measuring resources based on things out of their control, and expecting late night weekend working hours. After several weeks of discussions (and wasting my time) they did not have the respect to follow up by email letting me know that they didn't want to move forward.
