Interview by two of the HR staff at their headquarters in Birmingham. Interview lasted an hour and covered my back ground in Elearning.
I was informed later by the agency that I was not offered the job and the reason was (and I quote) "He was not a good strategic fit" when I asked the recruitment agency for more details they replied " this means that strategically you didn't fit with their culture. (I kid you not, this was the recruitment agency actual reply)
Clearly the answer(s) above are dire and in my view totally meaningless- given I'm now in my late 50's I strongly suspect age played a factor in their decision.
I think its wrong that companies provide this sort of feedback and its further wrong that recruitment agencies let them get away with such answers. Happy to be rejected if I'm not suitable but the reason given in this case STINKS!!!!
(Note I have 15 years of elearning experience as a learning consultant, learning manager and trainer in a wide variety of industries so it wasn't my lack of experience)
Hope this helps
