I began with a short phone screen with a woman from HR. She asked simple questions about my experience, education etc. I was told that I would hear back in a week if there was interest. A week later I received an email from a Senior Executive Editor, asking to meet for a short video interview. I was told at the conclusion of the interview that I sounded like a perfect candidate for the position and that I would hear back within a week. I sent a thank you email after the interview and about two weeks passed and I did not get any followup. I sent another email asking if there were any updates on the hiring process and I was told that there was a slight delay and that it would resume in the following days. I was also told to rest assured that I was still a candidate and would hear back soon. It has been over a month and I have yet to receive any emails. I understand that the interviewing process takes time, however, I do not think it is appropriate to tell a person that they are a good candidate for a job and then never follow-up with them, even if they will not be receiving the position. Overall an unprofessional and disappointing process.
