This was a very quick and professional process. I had a deadline and they were very accommodating.
First, I had a non-technical discussion of my background and the position with a member of the team. Then they brought me on-site (since I live in the area) for an hour long technical screen with the team I would be on. This had some easy SQL and then questions like finding efficient routes on large graphs. Not what I was expecting for a DS position, but I really got the sense that they were looking for creative technical problem-solvers rather than something like ML.
The next week I came in for my full 5 hour on-site interview, which was a sequence of panel interviews from different parts of analytics department. Questions varied pretty widely, from sampling techniques, computational complexity, data visualization, traditional statistical inference, and behavioral questions.
I liked the quick process and that they brought me on-site early, and I liked the emphasis on problem solving rather than knowing any particular language or techniques (like ML). I was pretty disappointed that I didn't get it.
