I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Rivian (Normal, IL) in Jan 2022
Interview
The overall process took exactly one month and the interview process went smooth and seamless step after step with maximum support and responsiveness from the recruiter in scheduling the calls in quick intervals.
I was referred at Rivian through an employee and received an email from the Sr. Recruiter for the Quality Engineer position at Normal.
We scheduled for an initial phone screening where the recruiter asked about my background experience and how it could apply to Rivian. The screening lasted for 20 minutes. I got positive feedback the next day from the recruiter and he set up a meeting for me to have a discussion with the Hiring Manager.
The interview with the Hiring Manager lasted about 20 minutes where we introduced ourselves to each other and spoke about our backgrounds. A couple of situational questions were asked pertaining to automotive quality and problem solving. A couple of behavioral questions to assess team work was asked. I was contacted by the Sr. Recruiter within 15 minutes after the interview with the Hiring Manager asking availability for a Zoom call with the panel.
The panel interview was with 4 engineers along with the Hiring Manager and lasted for about 45 minutes. Basic questions related to APQP , PFMEA were asked along with a quick assessment on my knowledge on the company and why I was interested to join Rivian. The recruiter also gave a quick introduction to the Rivian work culture , mission , core values (compass) and a bit about Rivian One on One right before the panel interview.
I was contacted by the recruiter two weeks later with an offer.
