I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Rise Against Hunger (San Francisco, CA) in Apr 2018
Interview
First phone interview with the recruiter who just read from a script and probably checked boxes...zero conversational aroma to the 45-min interview. I thought recruiters are supposed to represent the organization in a bright way? Once through the recruiter everyone seemed nice on the phone, did not meet in person however.

Question 1
How would you handle someone asking where does the packaged meals get sent and with so many people in this country going hungry why ship food internationally.
We are determined to make this a more efficient process with our new Talent Acquisition Specialist working together with hiring managers. She worked in our Community Engagement department for 3 years prior to joining our People Operations team and brings a wealth of passion and knowledge for the work we do here.

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Rise Against Hunger in Mar 2024
Interview
Unconventional interview process, the interviewer seemed intent on conveying a lot of information and giving very little chance for the person being interviewed to talk. Prefaced questions with disclaimers about what should be answered and when answered that way was clear that was the wrong answer and the candidate should have answered differently. Seemed intent on tripping candidates up in their answers. Focused a lot on demonstrating they have clear preference for non-white candidates to “increase their diversity.” Seemed like a great company, unfortunate experience with the HR person doing the screening.
