      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Riot Games in Mar 2015

      Interview

After applying, I got a Localization test in my inbox. It was pretty simple and straightforward. I sent it back and two days after that I got a QA one. This one was even easier. Resolved and sent it back the same day I got it. I then got contacted by a EU Localization QA Manager telling he'd like to schedule a Skype call. I was a little bit surprised because all of this happened within a week and I agreed to a time and date for that Skype call. Afterwards, that some Manager got back to me with an e-mail only to tell me that my behavior in-game was not that stellar but even though " that it was not always the case from your end, and motivated our decision to not progress any further with your application. " I must say that left me a little bit baffled. I didn't even get restricted or banned, ever. I had some bad days when people in-game were trashing me for being a "noob [insert role]" and I couldn't turn the other cheek. But I never was abusive or anything like that. I am pretty sure that my one-time bad behavior can't paint me as someone who disregards the Riot code and I am sure I am a perfect fit for the job (4+ years experience in Localization and QA) and I'd like to say that they shouldn't jump too conclusions that soon and maybe take into consideration that that person had a bad day or was frustrated by something else. I did not believe the fact that they value their "cultural fit" more than the actual technical knowledge but apparently this is really what they do. As I said, from a technical point of view, I was a perfect match for the job. I am a little bit sad about this outcome and can't lie but I'm also a little bit frustrated by this. Therefore, heads up for everyone who wants to apply. Make sure your "LOL CV" is impeccable or else, even if you're a superhero in your line of work, they will turn you down. I like LOL but Riot should change their approach. Sooner or later, those extremely passionate and culturally fit people will outnumber the tech savvy ones and it's only a slippery slope from there. Best of luck to everyone pursuing a career at Riot.

      Interview

Very fast reply after application, compared to other applicants (read this in forums) Followed by the skills tests- Localization first which I passed. QA next, which I failed, having had no experience in the field. I was considered for a more important job than what I applied for at first, but I didn't have the skills and so they continued with the QA test.
