I applied through other source. I interviewed at Riot Games (Santiago) in May 2017
Interview
Goods: Quick responses, nice people, they do work hard on bringing gamers onboard.
Bads: They are hunting creatives as if creatives were executives, which is a really wrong craft .
In their defense, must say I believe they don't really know how to handle creative talent hunts, as they have never done something similar before, and that's precisely why they need a Creative Director ASAP.
I wish they only had a Creative Director to help them to hire a Creative Director. Oh wait...
Overall, after reading other people's interviews, it feels like the Riot i interviewed with, was not the Riot most people speak up about. This was mainly bussiness, the kind of interview i would expect to work for a bank, a stocks company or something alike.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Tell me about yourself.
Have you ever hired someone who didn't deliver as expected?
How would you solve a last minute crash without compromising deadlines?
What do you think about Riot's Manifesto?
Do you play LOL?
It's a shame to hear that this experience with us didn't feel very riot-like. We can absolutely benefit from this perspective as we continue to buff-up our skills. If there are any other tactical tips that we should consider, please let me know at sgrobe@riotgames.com
