I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Rhythm Events (MI)
Interview
I came in for an interview at 9:45 to find four other applicants waiting ahead of me. While waiting, the secretary made sever callbacks offering interviews and gave the exact same spiel for each of them, except for the job title. Ex; "Hi my name is Jesse, with Rhythm Events, and I was calling because I received your application for [Customer Service Representative/Assistant Marketing Manager/Event Planner]. That is a full time position, and we are looking for someone who can begin within the next two weeks. We also do require that all of our [position] have their own form of transportation. Does that work for you?" The only part of the speech that changes is the job title, suggesting that all the job postings are for the same position, they just name it different to attract different people.
The actual job is lead generation/outside sales, not whatever else they call it. It's low base pay (near minimum wage) and a chance of commission. It's not a pyramid scheme, but it's not far off. This really is the 'fast food' of sales and marketing, so if you're just starting out its probably fine, but if you've got a college education or more than a year of experience, you can probably do better. I left after my interviewer was over twenty minutes late to speak with me.
