      Marketing Data Consultant Interview

      14 Jul 2020
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Houston, TX
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Reynolds and Reynolds (Houston, TX) in Apr 2020

      Interview

Had 5 rounds of interviews with each person essentially asking the same things: why do you want to work here, what do you want out of this position, etc. The first 3 rounds were virtual interviews and the last 2 were over the phone. The first round, you take an online assessment that is an hour long with various math and logic questions. And then they have you retake the assessment but PROCTORED with a hiring manager to make sure there's consistency and that you didn't cheat. This assumption that the candidates would cheat rubbed me the wrong way, and gave me a feeling that micromanaging might be an issue at this company. They also have you take an "ethics" quiz online to see if you will be a good fit. It was pretty apparent they are a conservative company (ex. will not hire anyone who smokes). The ethics quiz was interesting because they also assume they have the right to know what recreational activities you participate in outside of work. During one of the interviews, they also told me that the position I had applied for was not available, and that if hired, I would be placed based on where I would fit. So for the 5 rounds of interviews, I was actually applying for an entry level position that was pretty much didn't even require a bachelor's degree. After the final round interview, I was emailed about a week later that they were moving forward with other candidates, which is fine, but I wish they at least gave feedback, especially with the (literal) hours put in for the interview process for a position with low pay. Save yourself the time and energy, this company is not worth it.
