Interview
I had the opportunity to interview with the Data Processing, Integration, and Collector team at Renesas Electronics, and the experience further affirmed my enthusiasm for embedded systems and data-centric hardware solutions. The interviewer walked me through the team’s current initiatives in sensor integration and edge data acquisition, which directly resonated with my past project work—especially the high-throughput file handling backend I built (Quick Host) and the real-time performance tuning I managed on my RTX 3090 cluster.
One moment that stood out was when I discussed how I implemented dual-LLM APIs in my Swift app to validate image-based queries. The interviewer appreciated my focus on reliability and performance, which are also key pillars in Renesas’ approach to data pipeline design. They also seemed interested in my background with electrical and mechanical integration from the Wabtec internship, since their work involves close coordination between firmware and physical device outputs.
Overall, the conversation made it clear how well my foundation in both software and hardware aligns with the cross-functional demands of the role—and gave me even more motivation to work in the semiconductor space where I can build systems that push efficiency, speed, and real-world application.
Very easy, nice interviewers. I was interviewed by different teams so I met a range of people. The questions were alright, they didn't expect me to have that much knowledge but they expected me to do research. It more felt like a conversation rather than an interview. They were all in very relaxed clothes.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Renesas (Dresden) in Sept 2024
Interview
There were a total of three interviews. The first was an HR round that lasted 15 minutes. The second was a technical interview with a duration of one hour. The third was another HR round, also 15 minutes long, focused on discussing the contract and salary expectations.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
The HR interview focused on assessing my motivation for the field and interest in the company. The technical round covered fundamental analog circuits, electronic components, and discussions around the projects I had worked on.
