I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Reliable Power Systems (Boca Raton, FL) in Jul 2015
Interview
Ambushed!
I walked into their office 15 minutes early to be prepared to fill out any last minute forms.
To my dismay, two other candidates were presnt. Each had the same interviewer scheduled for the same time!
Without any advance notice, I had walked into the dreaded "group interview".
When we started, the interviewer stated that the point was that they wanted to see how we would work as part of a team.
Before the interview even started, I got the sense that this was a very uptight office and the few people there seemed to be "walking on eggshells".
One employee was on the phone and I was speaking in a nearby room in only a slightly elevated tone of voice. I could just feel the bad vibes coming from him.
I felt that with my level of experience, this style of interview and poor use of my time was an insult to my intelligence and a complete waste of my time.
Even though I was more than qualified for this position, I never received so much as a thank you e-mail for taking the time to come in.
Perhaps it might be better if you work there as an electrician, but if you are not a spineless individual, an office position with this employer will prove to be a poor fit, IMHO.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
None, the interviewer did all the talking.
The applicants would chime in and state how their experience related to the position.
As a team player, I made my points succinctly and did not talk over the others.
One interviewee let his mouth run in an attempt to dominate the conversation, only making himself look foolish.
I felt this "interview" was such an insult to my intelligence and professionalism that walking out the door, I resolved to decline the position if offered.
