I applied online. I interviewed at Redstor (Birmingham, England) in Nov 2023
Interview
The interview was pretty fun, exciting, nerve-wracking and intense enough at the same time!
We started off with an online meeting with the engineering manager introducing himself, the company's mission statement and the job spec to all the prospective candidates which lead to some Q&A which was pretty insightful!
Following that, the applications were sent off and the sift was done in a timely manner, lead by the 1st round which was a psychometric test.
Subsequently, the 2nd round included the technical test consisting of a coding challenge to be sent off to the hiring manager in the form of a public repo and had to contain unit tests. This was a pretty thorough approach to seeing one's capability and understanding. Following the technical challenge was the face-to-face interview with the engineering manager, which itself had a very calm, courteous and accommodating approach and allowed me to be myself.
Last stage i.e. the 3rd stage was a driver/navigator style technical assessment and had the same vibe. Although at the end of it I felt like I bungled it cuz my laptop froze for 5mins, but I managed to pull through!
Great hiring experience. Overall very positive approach taken by the HR folks as well in terms of organising and communicating everything!
