I applied through a recruiter. The process took 7 weeks. I interviewed at Redgate Software in Nov 2020
Interview
7 weeks of mithering, and a vast swathe of commitments expected from the candidate.
Most importantly: limited understanding by the company of the role to hand.
Process was:
* CV screen by the hirning manager
* 30 min zoom-face-to-face with hiring manager
* 1hr zoom with hiring manager + 1 other engineer
* 1hr zoom with 4 product-manager-type roles and the hiring manager (including presentation)
* 30 min zoom with 3 engineers and a scrum master, but with no agenda for the conversation
* 1hr zoom with 1 architect, an HR representative and the hiring manager

Question 1
At the end of 5.5 hours of interviews at various levels with various (mixed tech/non-tech) audiences (with more than 10 people) I was given a chance to ask questions about the role (with just 10 minutes left).
I asked: "What are the company's expectations for this role?" ... asked because the role is about taking a leadership role in pivoting a product to a service and I needed to know how far up the corporate structures I would have to persuade in order to get a service delivered.
