      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Redfin in Nov 2018

      Interview

I was an employee referral, and spoke briefly with a recruiter in the Seattle office before meeting with my market's local broker for a second interview. I interviewed again with the team leader for my region via video meeting, and received a call a week later from the same recruiter with an offer. The entire process was maybe 2-3 weeks, held up briefly by a holiday weekend. Everyone was incredibly friendly, relatable, and knowledgable.

      Why Redfin?

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Redfin

      Interview

Process was rushed and I felt the questions they asked did not actually give me a chance to describe what I would do in the role or how I would increase revenue for the company. Two to three days to prepare and do three interviews, it was all on their timetable without consideration of me. The recruiter called me and just asked me what questions I had about the role. She did not seem to know much about the role herself, the industry, or even what office the job would be at. Really bizarre. Then she told me the salary and it was so low I could not believe it, def. not a livable wage, but told me to go through the interviews with the hiring managers and maybe they could offer me more. So, I was already not super jazzed for the other interviews yet I did prepare. They asked "behavior" questions...describe a time when.... and I could tell they wanted me to say a certain thing. Why not just ask the question straight up? The position is not to be a storyteller. Back-to-back interviews, and each person asked the same questions. Why did they not just interview me together? I ran out of steam to repeat myself. With the second guy we just had a good conversation, but I could tell he was not going to hire me. Honestly, I was overqualified for this role and not sure why I applied. Kind of embarrassed I did. The questions were patronizing for my level of experience. The role was way more mundane than I thought it would be. And seemed more about maximizing profit to redfin instead of best serving customers. I planned to decline an offer anyway unless they came up about $5 an hour in wage. They seem to want a robot not an experienced professional.
