      Entry Level Java Developer Interview

      8 Nov 2022
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Montreal, QC
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at RedMane Technology (Montreal, QC) in Nov 2022

      Interview

Firstly, there is the regular phone screen where they ask about your background and give you more information regarding the position. Then there's a technical interview which consists of two parts: Logical Reasoning and Programming Questions.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Logic puzzles for the first portion. The technical portion asks for a strong understanding of Object-Oriented(OOP) concepts. Some questions regarding the pillars of OOP with examples. Then there are easy programming questions that involve topics like Binary Search, Arrays, etc. The questions are fairly easy.

      Entry Level Java Developer Interview

      18 Jan 2016
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Chicago, IL
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at RedMane Technology (Chicago, IL) in Jan 2016

      Interview

I was contacted by the recruiter to come-in for an Interview at their office. It seemed strange that they would not want to have some sort of a phone Interview prior to the on-site one. I was told that I would meet with a few team members and it would take 2 hours. Firstly, I was Interviewed with 2 Developers. The Interview lasted for about 1:15 minutes. It consisted of JAVA, SQL and a Logic question. The Interview was somewhat dry; it consisted with them reading question off a list and me answering them. They seemed to be occupied with syntax more than understanding. The logic question was interesting though. After concluding the Interview, they told me to stay in the room as it will be followed by a non-technical interview with the hiring manager. However, 10 minutes later the Recruiter walked in and said that the Interview will have to be rescheduled due to a meeting. Obviously that was not the case, but rather I received negative feedback, and they decided to not move forward with me. I waited a few days before contacting the recruiter. Eventually I contacted the recruiter, and I was told that " they are still gathering everyones availability". Obviously that was not the case, but I have already been out of consideration at that point. After a few days recruiter emailed me that they will not be moving forward. Evidently, this company has no respect to their candidates as they continuously lie. It is very likely that their lack of respect to their candidates translate to lack of respect to their employees, and their interviewing schemes reflect the company culture. Be Aware!

      Entry Level Java Developer Interview

      15 Jun 2015
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Chicago, IL
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at RedMane Technology (Chicago, IL) in Jun 2015

      Interview

1.Contacted by Email to setup initial HR interview. 2. 30 minute initial phone screen with HR 3. Schedule a day for multiple-interviews that was supposed to last hours, starting with technical screen and then meet with Executives and Managers The reason I would not recommend interviewing/working here is the fact they are very unprofessional and dishonest. When they scheduled the in-person interview they explained it would be at least a 3 hour process including a technical interview followed by multiple 1:1 with the management. I'm currently fully employed so I needed to request a personal vacation day from my current job to accommodate Redmane's interview process. I did the technical interview in front of 2 socially awkward java developers; only one of which mustered a "Hello nice to meet you," and they also never offered a goodbye. When it came time to talk to management they sat me in an empty office for 10 minutes before the HR lady came in and said the executives were "suddenly unavailable" to see me, it would have to be rescheduled and I was excused. Obviously this was a blatant lie. In actuality I didn't pass the technical interview and instead of being honest and saying I didn't have the technical skills they were looking for, they lied about my following interviewers being unavailable. Not only that but its been over 2 weeks and they have never emailed back or shown any common professional courtesy stating they are not going to move forward with my candidacy. I took the entire day off work and drove 2 hours one-way to their office just to be lied to the face and never even given a refusal email response after the all-to-common "you will be hearing from us." Instead of the 3+ hour interview process I took the day off work for; I ended up spending 4 hours in the car and 45 minutes at their technical screen. Business like that should have signs bolted to their offices and their websites plastered with pop-ups that state something to the effect of "We don't value our candidates time or sacrifices they have made during our interview process; We will lie to candidates so they will leave quietly; We don't even respect interviewees enough to write a 2 minute response email saying they didn't get the job." If you like getting treated like your 100% disposable and not worthy of any professional decency, with nothing better to do than take your whole day off to interview with their rude employees who have zero social skills, knock yourself out!
