Normal, 3 rounds interview process. First an hour long phone call with the recruiter. 3 weeks later phone interview with the hiring manager about my career history, technical skills, working style.
Last round was in HQ with the full team and the recruiter. I had to demonstrate knowledge and skills in a few different exercises. All in all, I judge it to be a relevant and valid method to learn about the new colleague.
What I found strange is the salary negotiation.I communicated my baseline from the beggining, HR always tried to drive it down, the topic even came up during the interview with the team(it was awkward).
